Description
The RAM Safe-T-Charge is an electronic safety system that protects your vehicle's battery from excessive discharge caused by connected devices. Tablets, GPS systems, routers, and other accessories remain powered as long as it is safe to do so—the Safe-T-Charge automatically shuts them off as soon as the battery voltage gets too low or the ignition key is removed.
Two configuration modes
The Safe-T-Charge operates in two ways, depending on the installation. In ignition mode, the system detects when the ignition key is removed and, after a configurable delay, cuts off power to connected devices. In voltage mode, the system continuously monitors the battery’s DC voltage and automatically shuts off when the voltage drops below a configurable threshold—well before the battery is so low that the engine will no longer start.
Warning tone and override
Five minutes before the power is shut off, the system emits an audible warning tone. After that, the tone sounds every minute until the power is actually shut off. The built-in override switch allows the user to manually bypass the timer when necessary, without disrupting the default setting.
Robust construction for heavy-duty use
The housing is water-resistant and made of flame-retardant ABS material. The device has a capacity of 30 amperes and is protected against voltage spikes, reverse polarity, and 24V jump-start voltage. Suitable for use in vans, trucks, forklifts, overland vehicles, and other vehicles where equipment is permanently connected to the battery.
